Black Bean Burgers

These black bean burgers are simply amazing! Unlike many veggie burger recipes that leave you hungry, you will be super satisfied after these.

I always make a few batches of this recipe (one batch fits into my food processor.) I freeze the burgers for a quick savoury meal that’s easy to prepare. The patties are quite soft, but they fry or broil easily.

½ cup oats

2 cups cooked black beans

2 large garlic cloves

1 onion cut in big pieces

½ cup flour

1/3  cup Homemade Ketchup

¼ cup tahini (sesame butter)

3 tablespoons miso

1 ½ teaspoons thyme

½ teaspoon sage

¼ teaspoon pepper

Mince garlic in a food processor, add the onions and pulse. Add the oats and pulse. Add the black beans and pulse again. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Shape into patties.

Fry in a skillet over medium high heat or broil, not too close to the element. These freeze well. Simply fry frozen in a covered skillet for a fast meal.
